The Serra da Malcata Nature Reserve is one of the last refuges of the Iberian lynx in Portugal, and one of the most remote and well-preserved territories along the Portuguese-Spanish border. Its Mediterranean scrubland and native forests make this mountain range one of the most valuable conservation areas in the country’s interior.
The Serra da Malcata is also part of several of the protected-area classifications that cover the Greater Côa Valley, reinforcing the ecological continuity of this cross-border landscape.

We will soon have tours dedicated to this territory.
