Rewilding in the Greater Côa Valley
Besides the region’s incredible natural values, the Greater Côa Valley represents a unique opportunity to apply rewilding principles in the region due to the high levels of rural abandonment.
This opportunity can be seized by adopting a large-scale landscape perspective and working to improve connectivity between natural areas. At the same time, supporting sustainable business models can stimulate local economies and bring added value to the communities in the area. The Rewilding Portugal association manages three areas in the Greater Côa Valley, according to the principles and philosophy of rewilding conservation.
This half-day activity includes a visit to the Ermo das Águias rewilding area, in Pinhel.
Only takes place with a minimum of 6 participants. Maximum of 10 participants.
